I missed this a couple of weeks ago when I first passed through.🫤 It is very close to the Curtiss Museum. It is possible to spend a couple hours at each and then continue on your journey. 🙌🏻
Upon approaching the boating museum I realized that I wasn't going to make it up that hill with my camper.😲 Conveniently located on the side of the road was a narrow empty parking area by an abandoned building.👍🏻
This museum was put together by the locals and is most certainly an important part of the history of the finger lakes area. I've always liked antique and classic boats. I lived on a lake for 26 years. ⛵So I was interested in the museum and I enjoyed the collection of boats and motors. 🥸

Read moreTwo adults took the one hour the Pat II cruise on Keuka Lake on a Thursday in mid-August and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The Pat II is over 100 years old but has been completely rebuilt and now is powered by an electric motor. The quietest boat ride we have been on outside of a sailing ship. The captain gave a lively and informative commentary on the trip up and back down the lake. Great way to spend a beautiful day with about 16 people total. The boat loads passengers at Depot Park, 7 Water Street, Hammondsport, NY. Park at the angle-in spots immediately in front of the old Depot building in the park. The Pat II will move from its pier to the park about 15 minutes or so before sailing. Clean restrooms are available in the Depot building on the side...
Read moreWent there with a friend for a class on outboard motors. Class was not what we expected, but nonetheless it was fantastic and we learned what we hoped for. We also toured the museum and found it to be fantastic. It is a remodel of Taylor wines headquarters and done very well. Several pieces on display and stories to go with them. Three floors of displays plus you can go in the shop were they are rebuilding boats of the area. A beautiful treasure of history. Hammondsport seems like a cool little town to visit too (probably better in warmer months) They have tours on the water and plenty of...
