First time on these trails this morning 7/17/22 and overall pretty happy with the amount of mountain bike mileage you can rack up with plenty of rolling hills, climbs that won’t absolutely destroy you and some nice downhill speedy sections. The fastest portion is on the main road when you first ride into the trails. Plenty of clear view down the hill so I was able to open up my fatty and clocked 33.2mph on my Garmin. I still have more exploration to do, but my first impression on the trails is that the trail markings could and should be better. Somehow the 10k trail led me around a circle and I ended up doing the same portion twice, a couple dead ends turned me around and there were a couple sections where the single track turned into a 1/2 track and suddenly turned into an impassable 1/4 track! Overall still a good time. Not terribly technical but enough up and down to keep things spicy. No jumps or drops, just straight up trails, but plenty of roots to offer some vertical variation. In the woods gotta watch your speed as there’s plenty of blind turns and corners where other folks and dogs could be coming through. Really my only thumbs down would be the lack of clearly marked trails. Just need to make them more frequent on the trails, and perhaps more heads up and trail junctions and crossings so you know which way your trail heads. Plenty of guessing for us new guys hitting these trails for the...

Read moreLEASH YOUR DOGS!! You are not doing your dog ANY justice by not leashing them. You put your dog at risk. Anyone has the right to walk their dog, even if it’s not necessarily the friendliest. If your dog runs up on a leashed dog and causes a fight in which your dog or the other is injured or even killed, is it worth it? It does not matter if your dog is nice. Not every other dog or even person wants to be ran up on by your dog. If your dog does not have a good recall while distracted, keep them leashed. For their safety, your safety, and others. Not to mention, porcupine, deer, and that the trails are horse friendly! Please don’t let your dogs run up on the horses! That being said, we love great bear! You can save the online map to your phone and follow from there if you’re having trouble following the poorly marked trails. Ticks are pretty bad but that’s the same for any wooded areas. Favorite place to walk, aside from the...
