I have had the pleasure of getting to know this truly incredible farm. Their thoughtful agricultural practices are evident in their products as everything I have had the pleasure of using from this farm is of the highest quality. You know this when you taste it, this is what these foods are supposed to taste like. This is real food, grown thoughtfully with the highest regard for how the environment that grows it affects our foods.
I look forward to every opportunity I find to use their farm products as I continually find new and exciting ways to prepare and enjoy meals featuring MBD’s remarkable foods. This a farm who doesn’t compromise their integrity or ideals of how farming should be conducted. They care deeply about their land, their animals, and their community. We are fortunate to have a farm like this in our community because farms like this are the backbone of a healthy and vibrant community. Our health is directly connected to the land that produces our foods and it is farming stewards like this that make the difference for every individual they connect with.
The food we consume is our first line of defense for our health and wellness, food like this is medicine and a key component to a healthy life. Knowing the farms that produce the food we eat ensures us the best nutrition possible. Our health is intertwined with the farms that produce our foods and farms like this bring something so essential and often missing from our modern world.
Supporting small family run local agriculture ensures the vitality of the individual and the community in which they farm.
Thank you for the work you do, we all need it...
Read moreMillbrook beef and dairy has excellent quality, 21 day dry aged prime black angus beef fed on pasture and finished on grain grown at the farm.
I first found them at a local farmers market and was very impressed with their ribeyes. I like supporting local farms as they’re more environmentally friendly, the animals are treated better, and you can make relationships with the farmers. Keegan at Millbrook farms has been awesome to work with.
I moved to the Hudson Valley 3 years ago, and have found it impossible to find whole packer brisket at any local farm. Speaking to local farmers, customers don’t want to pay for the fat cap of the brisket and want smaller cuts, the local briskets are heavily trimmed and cut at least to half sizes, which makes them undesirable for smoking/bbq.
Keegan was immediately interested in helping with custom cuts like a full packer brisket. We smoked the brisket and it was very juicy and flavorful.
Since buying the brisket, we’ve gone back for whole plate ribs sections which also turned out amazing on the smoker.
Keegan is currently working on providing tri tips and picahna steaks, which would be the first in the region.
I definitely recommend Millbrook for those who want to shop local, those who are looking for the best quality beef possible, or those looking for custom, difficult...
Read moreExcellent quality locally raised meat!! I am extremly picky about the flavor from a grass fed beef but Millbrook is unmatched. They're are grass fed grain finished and dry aged 21 days for the BEST tasting beef you have ever had. Once we started buying from them at our local farmers market, we never went back. They also make a plethora of delicious cheeses aged in McGrath caves! The herdsman is my favorite but they are all delicious and worth a try. They also sell a great selection of cuts you cant always find like beef marrow bones, suet for rendering, soup/stock bones and much more. You can tell Keegan and her husband have put. alot of effort into how the meat is cut and packaged which makes a huge difference when buying from small farmers. We also got out turkey from them this past year and everyone said it was the best turkey they ever had. You get a great product and support a great local family owned operation when you buy from Millbrook! And they are part of the Hudson Valley Fresh Milk co-op providing hands down the best...
