Too noisy in the city? Need to get away? Here is the right place for you to enjoy nature, you can ride a bike/roller blades through here. Skateboards might not work due to too many twigs on the pavement. I've noticed it needs to be swept! No motorized vehicles is not permitted! Walking from one gate to the other gate is about 4 miles one - way. You'll might also see Wildlife here too, bring your camera. There's a lot of Chipmunks running at times across the path. Read the posted signs before entry. This is outside of Black...

Nice trail to enjoy whether walking, running, or biking. For those wandering and exploring it does transverse through private properties which just makes the trail itself an odd placement. In the areas where there are more forested areas it would be nice to be able to just enjoy without paranoid posted signs everywhere. There is one land owner that seems to have fun heading west away from the black river woth bird houses and a Sasquatch monster along the fence, I thought it was nice to see someone having fun...

This is a VERY nice rail trail and yet it's almost not used. We recently walked a couple miles and only saw 2 bicyclists go by. It's virtually flat, nicely paved, and has lots of shade for the hot, sunny days. Previously, we biked the whole length and went on to Fort Drum.

I just biked the full length and back yesterday. I think I passed a total of 7 people. (At the west end, there were several cars and more...

Love going here. It is a great place to walk or run. I have even seen people riding bikes. In the fall, it is great to see all the leaves change colors. There are spots where you can walk to the river. I have never fished here, but I do see people fishing, and here it's not bad.
