If I could leave 100 stars I would!! There’s so much to say about this experience. First, what a big heart Meagan has for providing this safe haven for these sweet-hearted, playful souls. I can’t imagine how much peace and contentment they feel now that they are living at her sanctuary where they feel loved, cared for, pampered, and SAFE. We did the original Hugs and a Hike with the Herd. When you first arrive to the property, you just see beauty, colors, adorable goat art and statues everywhere, so you are already drawn in. Then you get out of your car and you start to hear Ziggy, he’s the vocal one of the group, but you didn’t see them yet. After you go around the spectacular garden next to the barn and you see all the curious faces looking at you, the feeling is just indescribable! Pure joy. You get through the gate and you don’t know who to pet and hug and love on first. There’s a lot of excitement and commotion. The goats are so welcoming and excited to have you visiting them. You enter the barn and grab a brush and start brushing them, then you’re brushing two of them and then three! There’s just all these friendly, curious and oddly shaped bodies moving around you in a mixture of white, beige, black, and brown colors. Then you notice Eva perched on her rock surveying the whole scene and you go to her desperate for her attention and approval, but she’s just so cool and chill. She’s the senior of the group, the one our hiking group was affectionately calling grandma and even though her aged arthritic black little body struggles to keep up with everyone, she gives off an air of such strength and independence. God I love her! I love them all!! They all have unique personalities and quirks. I could go on and on about this experience I had yesterday. I can’t stop talking about it to everyone and looking at the photos we took. It was one of the best days of my life to spend it in the company of these precious creatures, walking through the woods together. After the hike, before you head back home, a stop in the quaint little gift shop is a must where you will find many adorable items to take home with you to remember your time with these...

It was so therapeutic with the goats just relaxing with us, meagan offers tea and drinks which was zen moment for me. You get to choose the canvas of choice, meagan offers all the supplies to us, offers tea or wine while drawing and the most amazing part is the goats who are sooooo adorable hang out with you, under your table, on the table and you could pet them and take silly selfies lol. The cause is unique which I love. Meagan is such an amazing human being who rescues goats which people forget need to be rescued and loved too. You can choose to donate your painting to the auction which I did. The gift shop is super adorable so make sure you get some cute items. This was zen moment for me and would do this again and...
Read moreI went during the Memorial Day Monday for the original hike & hugs, and it was forecast of heavy rain and thunderstorm. 2 more groups of 2 were with us.
Luckily we were able to do the hike just before the heavy rain hit, and the hiking trail was shaded very well that the light rain didn’t bother us. Meagan’s policy is no refunds unless prior to 72 hour notice, or if the forecast is thunderstorms (only applicable for the hikes). In such case, she was happy to either reschedule or refund.
Hugging the goats was fun, most of them are used to human interactions. Even the ones that may be a feisty to be touched are cute too. It was definitely worth the 1.5 hour drive, and there are towns nearby with plenty of places to dine and explore on your way back. The original hug&hike experience isn’t alot of effort to hike, so it’s great for anyone who may be unsure of how well they can keep up...
