The Siamese Ponds Wilderness is a 114,000 acre area administered by New York State's Department of Environmental Conservation. It is one of the prime areas in the south-central Adirondack Park for hiking, fishing, boating. cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, birding, and rock/ice climbing. Boating is limited to canoes, kayaks and other non-motorized boats, and to boats with electric motors. There are 124 primitive tent sites available to the public. Permits are required only for groups of 10 or more. Bird species include bald and golden eagles, peregrine falcons, osprey, hawks and loons.
