I recently rented the lodge at Oatka Creek Park to host a grad party. The lodge comes with several small picnic tables inside and a covered patio outside that can fit six long picnic tables. There are also a few picnic tables scattered in the lawn. The grill is wider than most park charcoal grills and we were told to just leave our coals there and that they'd be cleaned out for us the next day. There is kindling for the wood stove inside and the fire pit outside in a box next to the fridge. There are two fully equipped bathrooms. Seriously worth the price of rental. Read moreA top notch park for trail walking and seeing wildlife. Trails are well marked and easily navigable. You can take a short route or a long route and choose your own adventure milage. A mixture of wooded, field, hills, and water views. The old gypsum mines are pretty neat and interesting to see! There isn’t an informational post about what all of those holes and caved in areas are - so you’ll have to google that! The creek is gorgeous. Come in the spring and see the bluebells! Read moreGreat trail system in the park. You can walk anywhere from 1 to 3.5 miles. You can choose to get a great workout with some small hills or just relax on flat shady trails. Lots of nice views as you walk through some old farmland. There's also some surprises on different trails. Theres the walls of an old building, a fireplace that looks like it had been part of an old cabin and a couple of old cars in a ditch.
