I recently rented the lodge at Oatka Creek Park to host a grad party. The lodge comes with several small picnic tables inside and a covered patio outside that can fit six long picnic tables. There are also a few picnic tables scattered in the lawn. The grill is wider than most park charcoal grills and we were told to just leave our coals there and that they'd be cleaned out for us the next day. There is kindling for the wood stove inside and the fire pit outside in a box next to the fridge. There are two fully equipped bathrooms. Seriously worth the price of rental. Also, the Monroe County park staff are super friendly and helpful....

A top notch park for trail walking and seeing wildlife. Trails are well marked and easily navigable. You can take a short route or a long route and choose your own adventure milage. A mixture of wooded, field, hills, and water views. The old gypsum mines are pretty neat and interesting to see! There isn’t an informational post about what all of those holes and caved in areas are - so you’ll have to google that! The creek is gorgeous. Come in the spring and see the bluebells! Always a lot of deer to see here. These trails are well travelled and packed and stay relatively traversable year round. A...

Great trail system in the park. You can walk anywhere from 1 to 3.5 miles. You can choose to get a great workout with some small hills or just relax on flat shady trails. Lots of nice views as you walk through some old farmland. There's also some surprises on different trails. Theres the walls of an old building, a fireplace that looks like it had been part of an old cabin and a couple of old cars in a ditch. Also the foundation of an old bridge that crossed the creek long ago. This place is a...

The trails here are so cool. You almost always see some sort of beautiful wildlife here. I love seeing people riding their horses here. Watch out for the big ol' horse poops and also big roots on the trails so you dont trip. They also have a huge soccer field, a building/area to rent out for parties, and some nice fishing spots. Also, there are port-a-potties in both parking areas just in case "nature" calls. I think Oatka is a great place to hike with multiple trails. Our dogs love it here too!

Absolutely beautiful. The only complaint is that it is not well kept up. Some of the paths had so much overgrowth that it was hard to walk the path. The path on the opposite side of the bridge was completely grown over and we were not able to walk that path. Don't forget your bug spray! And do not forage or eat any of the plants unless you are am experienced forager because there are some poisonous plants that look edible.

Pretty cool place. We found some abandoned cars and some type of building that was knocked down. The rock inside of a tree was cool to see. Paths are easy to walk. It was raining but we still walked and we barely got wet because of the tree coverage. You could hear it pouring it was peaceful. Definitely going to make this one of my regular spots to visit.
