One of our favorite go to hikes that is close to home and gets us out of the house for a bit. You can walk through meadow and woods and see orchards and the lake. Sometimes they have a story walk up on one of the trails. There are a couple different trails to follow now, one is very wet seasonally and waterproof boots are recommended. Some of lakeshore trail can be very muddy and wet in the spring. We love doing the entire loop. We start down at the marina end of the trailhead and walk all the way to the woods and back. If you do all the trails to each parking area you can walk about 2.5 miles round trip. We love this trail during...

This is a hidden gem next to Pultneyville. Begins with a lovely stroll through a high meadow loaded with a variety of birds. This is followed up with stunning views of Lake Ontario from several overlooks 40 feet above the shoreline. Sunsets are truly surreal! There's also a section that takes you through a few acres of old forest growth on the West side. Thank You family Cornwall for sharing your family's property with the community! (Visited 6/5/2021 with family from State...

It was a wonderful place to walk and enjoy nature. Lots of flowers, birds, butterflies. The trails are well maintained. One of the pathways goes a long Lake Ontario. Wide grass paths. Just down the street is Putneyville, and there is a nice deli for lunch or pick up a lunch and sit on the bench at Cornwall Preserve and enjoy a Sunday afternoon. A hidden...

Visited as part of a plein air art event sponsored by Genesee Land Trust. All these years in Rochester, I can't believe I never knew this little gem was available for day hikes. Just walking up the orchards to the lake was heaven with the smell of the ripening apples.
