Yesterday we knocked off Whiteface Mountain (4,867 ft - 5th tallest) and Esther Mountain (4,270 ft - 28th highest) from the Adirondack 46 High Peak challenge.

The first 1.6 kms were very steep. Take your time as it will feel like the workout form hell. The whole trail is about 15.3 kms there and back. It took us about 3hrs to Esther, and another 2 hrs to white face. The section to Esther was pretty muddy but the rest of the trail was dry.

By the top our knees were pretty sore so instead of taking the trail back down we actually walked along the rd to the ASRC. It's 10kms (5kms further than had we taken the trail), and took about 2 hrs, but it was faster and the views were amazing along the way since we weren't in the tree tops. Highly recommend it 😊

Round trip was just over 20kms and took 8hrs 🐢(5hrs to summit both preaks, rest 1 hr and hike back 2hrs). You can do it much faster as most people passed us. Good luck and have fun

Great way to summit whiteface and Esther. Weather was fantastic. The hardest part of the trail is the straight steep slog up to marble mountain. Definitely saps the legs, but the trail is in great condition. Good amount of parking at the trailhead. The trailhead is not well marked and it easily blocked by cars. You have to dip off the road and go down before getting...

It took my friends and I, 4 hours to hike 5 miles up to the top of Whiteface Mountain. It was an intense hike! But it was so satisfying and worth it in the end. The views are breathtaking. We almost gave up but we all pulled through. Its a little chilly up there. I wish I would've brought a sweater. But totally...
