We visited Whiteface Mountain during the winter season, and while I was excited to explore, unfortunately, the mountain was closed due to snow conditions. While this was a bit of a letdown, I still have to commend the mountain for its breathtaking views. Even from the base, the scenery is absolutely stunning, with sweeping vistas of the surrounding Adirondacks and the valleys below. It's a place where you can appreciate nature’s beauty at its best, even if you can't fully experience all the activities during the winter months.
Although we couldn't take the chairlifts or go skiing, the sight alone was worth the trip. It’s clear that this is a prime destination for those who love snow sports. The mountain is known for its excellent skiing and snowboarding, and I’m sure the views from the summit are spectacular when the conditions are right.
One thing to note is that if you're planning a visit during the winter months, check ahead to confirm that the mountain is open, as snow or weather conditions can cause closures. Even if you can't get up the mountain, there are plenty of surrounding areas to explore and take in the views.
Pro Tip: If you're planning to visit, it's best to check for updates online or call ahead to avoid...
Read moreI hiked Whitface at any time of the year, this time I decided to go by car. The Veterans Memorial Highway is very well done, with many viewing spots, there are also picnic tables. The last section from the parking lot to the top has to be walked, if someone has a problem with walking it can be difficult, but there is a solution - you can go up by elevator, which works very well. The views from the top are beautiful, especially in autumn and winter!!! The highway, parking lot, the top are well done and maintained. I recommend it, 20 bucks is not that much. I wish you a good time...
Read moreAmazing. Loved every minute of this ride, it was the highlight of our trip. We did Mt Washington last year and this trip was so much more enjoyable because there were short stone barriers along the side of the road instead if just a terrifying straight drop haha. Great pull offs to stop for pictures and the hike to the summit was beautiful, albeit a bit terrifying. The elevator was closed, but being able to walk into the mountain was really cool! Highly recommend. We went right when they opened and there was no line, but when we left there was a bit of a line, so I'd suggest...
