Great place to be outdoors, sunny, but if you're looking for shade you got it. You can picnic, grill, swim, kayak, hike, a place to have fun, hang out with friends. One issue, the toilets, need upkeep, the building inside ain't looking too hot, none of the stall doors are lockable, only hot water comes through the sinks, there's no soap, the sinks are, strangely shallow, with the facet being oddly low, water can pour out of it at any point, will drain a bucket immediately, like you never filled it in the first place. And that's important, cuz you can't just be leaving open fires out in the trees, which is where plenty of the charcoal grills are. Read moreBeautiful park. Has a pavilion in case it rains. While there you can play volleyball, softball, basketball, hike a couple trails and a couple of other things not mentioned. Unfortunately, you can't swim or use the water due to the possibility of ecoli--hurricane Irene contaminated the lake and water system back when she roared through a few years ago. Funds were not made available to do repairs so make sure you bring hand wipes when you visit. They do provide them but why not be prepared? Regardless, it is a lovely place to hang out for a day and when it's very hot down the mountain, it is cooler up...
