Skydive California, wow where do I even start. I vividly remember when I first showed up at this drop zone. Instantly I felt a sense of community, acceptance, and most importantly safety. I had just finished AFF and like many had no idea what was going on in the sport of skydiving let alone if it was for me. I was greeted kindly by Aaron and not knowing how skydiving worked, fresh out of AFF and without a license, I asked him if It would be ok if I continue my progression there and jump. He kindly with reassurance in his voice told me "of course you can, you're a skydiver!" I'll remember those words for as long as I live.
I've been around for about 2 years now and all I can say is I love this place. The Skydive California staff still have me in straight awe every time I show up. The support, skill level, communication skills, sense of safety, and positive vibes are all incredible. I'm lucky to say I have become friends with some, if not most of the staff members including Dalton, CB, Matty, Bernardo, Sarah, Ryan, John, Levi, Mark, Kel, and Tyler and hope to keep making friends. Easily some of the most amazing people I have ever encountered in this life. I have also been able to watch them in action and it is a blessing to watch. CB, Matty, Bernardo, John, Ryan and Mark are a wealth of knowledge and have taught me a lot about this sport.
Dalton and Sarah teaching AFF is something special to me considering I don't feel like it was that long ago when I first decided to make a solo jump and learn to fly. They truly cater to each student making them feel comfortable and confident in themselves. I'v watched this staff at this DZ change lives and they changed my life for the better fsho. Flying is fun! Much love gang! And much love to all the fun jumpers and ninjas out there. You guys inspire me. I'm stoked and grateful I call this place my home DZ. Bless...
Read moreIn January, I for whatever reason got a strange desire to learn how to skydive. So I went on a search for a safe and reputable drop zone where I could attend a Beginner skydiving course. Being a business owner myself, I possess high expectations on the way businesses present and conduct themselves. After visiting and contacting three other local drop zones i started to become less than enthused on the way other drop zones operated and conducted their business, To the point I started to develop an unnecessary amount of anxiety and fear about the journey ahead of me, greatly due to the lack of service and communication I was receiving from other drop zones whilst attempting to schedule my first jump course. After contacting Skydive California and speaking with a very kind and informative gentleman from the manifest office named Aaron (come to later find out is the owner) I absolutely knew this was the place i would finally learn to skydive. The professionalism, clarity, communication, and acceptance that I received from Aaron and his instructors replaced my anxiety and uncertainty with comfort and confidence. I since have acquired my skydiving license and have completed over 100 skydives at this drop zone in the five months of being a licensed skydiver. My Girlfriend who was once completely against the idea of jumping out of planes has since completed 12 skydives and is in the process of obtaining her license. Thanks to skydive California we have meet some of most amazing people in our lives and have built some our closest...
Read moreI jumped out of a freaken plane y'all. I am so glad that I purchased the Deluxe Video & Photo package because this was my 1st jump and the experience went by too quickly. The videographer, Bernardo, captured some HILARIOUS moments of me as did instructor, Mark. The images are nice to look back at when I need a laugh and a reminder to not take life too seriously. Thank you both for being the perfect duo. I wasn't able to convince friends or family to tag along so I appreciated the energy that Mark and Bernardo brought. I felt calm-ish during the whole experience. I chose a 9AM 18,000ft tandem jump and here are the things that I took from the experience: postpone if you're feeling an itch in your throat (I wasn't sick but felt off a week before the jump) apparently that might've been why my ears felt badly "plugged" as I was going down. I went to bed that night still feeling like I couldn't hear like usual. Woke up the next morning just fine; the anticipation is a lot worse than the actual jump; purchase the photo/video package! I know that I jumped but I cannot remember the fall itself (must've been the adrenaline/overstimulation). I'm glad that I purchased the package to look back at the moment and share it with friends and family; oh and after the jump maybe take a few minutes to gather yourself before driving off (just trust me on this one). Lastly, enjoy the ride. See you again Skydive...
