This is a super special place and experience and one that I think should be talked about more and here’s why. The museum is full of what used to be a private collection from someone that loved their cars SO much, they made sure this museum would be possible and live on beyond their passing. Now, it’s operated and taken care of by people who care just as much about their conservation and sharing how special they are. These cars are so well taken care of that a lot of them not only still run but they’re some of the last in the world of their kind (and were also some of the first in the world of their kind!). There’s information on pretty much every car from its mechanics to the time period context and if you want to know more their staff are there to help. We ran into the lead mechanic and he was nice enough to show us some of his favorites and walk us through why they were made the way they were. They even have a cute little gift shop. Would definitely suggest this as a stop if you’re...

What a lovely little place! My husband and I were staying in the area on our honeymoon, and I saw Seal Cove Auto Museum advertised on a Facebook group. I'm so glad we decided to visit!

I know absolutely nothing about vintage automobiles, but I found myself fascinated with this collection. I absolutely loved the exhibit about Bertha Benz, and the information dedicated to the Women's Suffrage Movement.

My husband could've stayed here all day. He was over the moon when museum staff wheeled out a 1908 vehicle (I don't remember the make/model) for a live demonstration. It was such a cool thing to see!

You can tell the staff here are dedicated to educating visitors, and love their jobs! We will definitely be...

A few weeks ahead of our visit I sent an email to see if we could get a closer look at one of their cars I had a special interest in, the curator responded within minutes and was very accommodating. The collection includes some very rare early Fords including a Model K as well as a National Underslung and Pierce Arrow. All the staff we spoke with were very knowledgeable and friendly. The museum shop had a nice selection of shirts, hats, etc. The day we were there noted author and car collector Tom Cotter was giving a presentation and displayed his Cunningham automobile. All in all one of the best car museums on...

Seal Cove Auto Museum, founded by the late Richard Cushing Paine (1928-2007) opened in 1968. The current President of the museum, Thomas Alley, kindly functioned as my tour guide. The museum's collection consists of the “Brass Era automobiles” from the late 19th century to the outbreak of World War One. Obvious items in the collection are early Fords but also included of note are extraordinarily rare examples by Peugeot, Stanley, and Whites. Museum Director of Curatorial Affairs Roberto Rodriguez stepped in for Mr. Alley to provide greater details on the past ownership of the vehicles and how they wound up at this institution.
