Will NEVER go back to this place ever again and HIGHLY DO NOT RECOMMEND!!! This was the most unorganized event I have ever been to. None of the staff knew what was going on, all said, and knew different things. The upgrade for $ 80 was a complete joke. Was literally a 20FT long by 4ft wide cattle walk, with the fence facing the stage FIVE FT tall...with NO way out at end that tapered to a v, in case of emergency type of situation, which I'm sure wasn't safe. I was told by several people that Jenn Hottes, the owner was upset by the whole situation, because her husband is the ine that decided this and had it set up, but she did nothing about it. Also, the weather took an unfortunate toll on the first day/ night. Which, understandably, cannot be controlled. However, they chose to offer the people that purchased a single day only ticket to come to the second day for free. Which is great, but what about the people that paid for the two day tickets, they were offered NOTHING, or what about the people that were camping and were literally STUCK in the Mudd for hours on Sunday because of the 8 plus inches of rain that had fallen over the weekend. They were offered literally nothing. Not even a free meal, a free drink, absolutely nothing. I mean, selling a free sponsored mug from the bank for $80 and $4 refills I think tells it all, that they were just after the money. Sadly I will say one positive thing, the people were very nice, they just were not accommodating in any way for the inconvenience. Sorry Black Silo Winery, and Mid America Music Festival, this was a horrible event and I will never go back nor will I recommend in any way! Oh and we asked to upgrade, for just one show, and would pay for whatever, but the lady said they were all sold out, but, look at the video of the so called " sold out" section.... EMPTY!!! Also attached video of the cattle walk $80...
Read moreWent by yesterday evening which was Saturday Oct.23 not greeted at the door with a hello or anything….there was a private event going on and was told we could not have a wine tasting but could purchase a bottle of wine to go which would of been fine but we didn’t know what wine to get because we needed to taste the wines plus where would we drink it in the car on the way home to Kansas City. We called ahead to see if they were opened and no one answered. We expressed this to who I think was the owner and she never said a word or apologized…… We are disappointed and will never return! At least answer the phone if your not opened to the public or list it on your website we checked there and it said they were open…..no mention of...
Read moreThe winery is quaint with an adjacent event space which allows for live music or private parties plus a nice outdoor patio. The wine is surprisingly good (grapes are grown in Missouri), but it's the staff that makes this winery so special. My husband and I had visited this winery twice in about 4 months. Then some 3 months later, we walked in with some friends and the super friendly gal behind the bar sees us and says Hey, we got Jesse James in! I know we were out last time you were here (Jesse James is my husband's favorite Black Silo red wine). The owner is very nice and has been around every time we've been there plus there is a food truck outside and I highly recommend the pulled...
