I I'll never come back to this winery ever again . My daughter and I were there with my grandson to celebrate an early Mothers Day and it was completely ruined by an employee that worked there . My daughter was purchasing wine and a cheese platter for all to enjoy and my grandson was sitting on the floor letting his car roll on the floor . I his grandmother was watching him and he wasn't in the way of anyone . Besides my daughter at the counter there were two other ladies and standing at the counter tasting wine . It was not crowded at all . I am an adult and would never let my grandson do anything that could have Injured anyone . It was not crowed at all. Only t5 people in the main building and three of them were my family x He wasn't doing anything wrong and this female employee in 30's early 40's with brown hair told him to get off the floor your gonna trip someone . He is 3 years old !! Really !! If she is related to the owner or is the owner Than woman needs and attitude adjustment and if she is just an employee she needs to be let go. This woman obviously does it like children . I have been here before with family and no kids and didn't have the best time but I thought I would give it a try again Your sign says kids are welcome but CLEARLY they are not . You need to place a sign that says No children allowed . He didn't disturb anyone and this employee was absolutely rude and then has the nerve to give my daughter dirty looks and made us feel all uncomfortable . I will never step foot on this property again and I will make sure all my friends and family know not to...
Read moreJust off I-77 in Troutman is a great place to relax in an idyllic setting. We enjoyed our visit on this beautiful fall afternoon! (see posted photos). Google maps can get you there quickly via I-77 (interstate) OR the "alternate route" which takes you through scenic back county roads. The tasting room is spacious with a cozy indoor seating area next to a fireplace. There's a private event building behind the tasting room (social event happening, so we couldn't go inside). They host weddings and receptions here. LOTS of outdoor seating (see photos)... covered patio on the hill above the lake and waterfall area. Tables and chairs for 4-6 parties are scattered throughout the grassy areas. Patio next to the tasting room had rectangular gas firepit (took the chill off the autumn air). Large selection of wines (red & white) AND "surprise" they also have beers on tap brewed by Daveste' (see photos of taps inside tasting room). Today there was "live" entertainment, so almost all the grassy spaces had folks with blankets, their own lawn chairs....singing and dancing to the music. There was also a hot dog vendor on site. However, the tasting room offers a good selection of cheeses, meats, and crackers for purchase. Bringing your own picnic basket is also welcomed. Staff greet you and interact with you like you are family. A staff member explained the new construction will be their larger wine processing plant, all under one roof. Looking forward...
Read moreEach year my entire family comes together for a vacation. This year we gathered on Lake Norman, outside Charlotte, North Carolina. On the recommendation of a family friend of my stepfather, we went to an afternoon of music and wine at Daveste Vineyards. The grounds of the winery were idyllic for a relaxing afternoon. Pulling into the winery, one passes through the vineyards, leading to a small number of wood buildings. A small pond and waterfall were the backdrop for the small stage area where two performers sang hits from the 60s to the 80s. The winery offered a good selection of wine and beers, all made on grounds. I'm not a wine connoisseur, but other family members, who have much more knowledge than I about wines, thought the wines ranged from acceptable to good. A food truck offered a great selection of lobster rolls, crab rolls, avocado with lobster, and many other selections. Overall, the experience was great, and one I would do, again. My entire family gets together twice a year, and Daveste Vineyards offered a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon. How can listening to music, drinking wine, and reconnecting with family, while sitting under a grove of pine trees in the middle of a beautiful vineyard be anything...
