Arizona Steel & Ornamental Supply — Attraction in Tucson

Awesome prices, nice people, help where needed. I bought 6 sheets of expanded metal to replace metal screens in my 10' x 10' screen porch. I precut it at home thanks to extremely careful measurements by my wife and me. My porch is located on my remote land on the western edge of the Galiuro Mountain Wilderness. I live in San Manuel and it takes 2 hours to drive the 22 miles to my land....nearest neighbor is 11 miles away. Yep, it's nice and quiet. There are actually plenty of black bears in AZ, even in the Sonoran Desert Sky Islands like the Galiuros. Year after year my wife and I have repaired everything from tiny rips to entire screen sections devastated. I finally had enough and realized that the metal in most security doors would still allow nice views of the canyons and mountains while totally keeping the bears out.

We never keep any food in the screen porch, but bears are curious. They have torn 3 small skylights off of my 1984 Layton trailer and have punched out several windows over the last 15 years. I now have window covers for the time we are not there and the trailer roof has pig fencing at each end which bears do not try to compromise. The screen porch has joined the club and though the bears still tear at the wood, they cannot even dent the expanded metal that I purchased from Arizona Steel & Ornamental Supply. OK this place has good inventory and their prices are reasonable. What they don’t have is customer service. Absolutely horrendous customer service. So I made an order for materials that included some cuts and they were supposed to call me when it was done a day later when I hadn’t heard from them I called them to see what was going on and they said oh yeah we were going to call you. It’s ready to be picked up so I came in the next day. (Today). And and it isn’t ready to be picked up they hadn’t done anything on the order and I’ve been here for more than an hour and they’re still trying to figure it out.

I think this place is completely disorganized, Nobody knows what anybody else is doing, and when I went to the people at the front desk to let them know my displeasure their response was basically that this is business as usual.

Absolutely positively stupid If you can’t do what you say you are going to do how do you ever hope to stay in business

I have been in business in Tucson for 20 years now. This is my favorite place to buy steel! Much better prices than IMS, SRS, SWS and equivalent pricing to SPS. They stock all the pieces and shapes that I need except for exotics for, those you will have to use IMS. The staff is courteous, friendly, knowledgeable, and professional.
