What a gem! I love birds and this place has them. The total trail is a little over a mile. Plenty of water brings songbirds and waterfowl. There is an Audobon employee who is there about every day and his name is Alex and he is extremely knowledgeable and enthusiastic. He had just seen a bobcat the other night and wanted to share his video of it. Amazing. You have to go often for any chance to see a bobcat. We saw hawk, heron, egret, vermillion flycatcher, says phoebe and others. It is crazy this place is in an industrial park and thriving. I also love seeing all the inspirational photo contest winners and placards that describe how they go the shot. Dogs are not allowed and some Idiots still ignore the sign and are above it all. Parking is decent and I have never had a problem. Multiple bathrooms with running water. Water fountain was there but leaking precious water. The trails are clean of trash and well kept. Usually people around so I felt safe. People with iPhone getting too close and chasing birds away when I was trying to get a shot with my longer lens and no courtesy. So a few frustrations but overall a great place to relax and lots of...

To me, this is the best place in town. Right off the Prince exit, its not too far from anything. Its quiet and so peaceful. From the birds that take refuge in the beautiful trees to the sunlight that comes through at just the right angles, Sweetwater Wetlands is a local treasure more people should know about - or maybe not. Its perfect as is and not everyone is capable of respecting it's importance. The first time I went was on a field trip in grade school to learn about the water and the ecosystem centered around it; I've been going back ever since. Just this last visit, in the span of 5 minutes, an inquisitive dragonfly tried to decide if I was safe to land on, a busy raccoon trotted towards me on the dirt path - oblivious to my presence - then scurried off when I made a little noise to let him know I was there, and as I was leaving one of the local bird watchers pointed out a gorgeous owl watching everyone go about their business down below. This will always be my favorite...

If you are into serenity, birds, and nature itself, you have to checkout Sweetwater Wetlands! Who knew such an oasis existed here in Tucson?! Until a few days ago, I didn't! I was so impressed with the whole experience! I love 🐦, so I was in heaven. There are paved paths and unpaved paths that encircle the wetlands that make for easy walking, lots of shade made by beautiful big trees, and benches scattered throughout if you want to just sit and take in the beauty. To tell you the truth, I didn't read much about the background or history. My bad. I was just excited to be invited to go see some birds! And birds I did see, and a couple rabbits, ducks, and turtles as well. We also heard bullfrogs, although we could not spot them. Hopefully, on the next visit, we will be more successful! Believe me, there will be more visits in my future! Sweetwater Wetlands gets a...

Very pretty little park. Clean easy flat walk. Shaded! Strange location Around one mile east of the interstate. I came here on a Sunday evening and the Main parking lot was full and the auxiliary parking lot was about half full. Lots of shady parking spots on the main parking area, no shade in the auxiliary parking area. The hike is a loop around a large pond with tall cat tails surrounding the entire body of water. There were a few groups of people taking photos for weddings or birthdays or graduations etc. several birdwatchers taking photos, a few people just walking around. There are several observation deck’s that jet out into the water where are you can get a better view of the water fowl like ducks.
