Belk Activity Center — Attraction in Tuscaloosa

I was considering the Belk center as a venue for an upcoming Educators conference my company was planning on hosting. I came from an hour away and viewed the venue and thought it would be suitable. I had notified the staff on several instances that we were having a conference. Once, i decided the venue was suitable i returned (another hour trip) to only be told that because i was charging for admission for my event that they would have to DOUBLE the price!?!?!?!?! this was the first time i had heard this, and felt very mislead. I spoke with a building supervisor and he was quick to notify me that there is nothing he can do, that it is a company policy (which may be so), but i felt like they mislead me or were not properly trained resulting in SEVERAL hours of valuable lost time, which i am already running short of due to this. I felt that some sort of discount or trying to work with me on the venue would have been a proper resolution, but i did not feel as if the staff were wanting to help at all, and were not concerned because it did not effect them. I WILL NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE FOR ANY TYPE OF EVENT...

Great facility indoors and out. One of the PARA facilities. Has workout equipment, gym, showers, and meeting rooms inside. Outside surrounded by Bowers park with disc golf course, tennis courts, walking circle, professionally groomed ball fields, restroom, shelters, seasonal swimming pool, and tons of green space. I love walking on their elevated track. I try to walk a mile (10 laps) five or six days a week. It is so great to have an air-conditioned place to walk when it is too hot or too cold or too rainy to walk outside.
