TLDR: Frustrating experience to visit. As of Jan '23
I'm sure the museum and Tukegee Institute visitor's center are great. However, the experience of trying to visit during current hours of operation was a massive headache. Their hours have recently changed to Thursdays and Fridays only, from 0900-1630. This makes it VERY difficult to visit. Additionally, visitor parking is across the street next to The Oaks Home building which isn't clear on the NPS website. Just understand that although they are unique, they’re no racial competitiveness required. ALL races have made monumental contributions to science, the arts,...
Read moreVery informative museum!! Most of the information is about George Washington Carver but you can also find a small portion on Booker T. Washington. Here you will find a very in depth history of Carver's life and inventions with many photos and interactive exhibits. Entrance is free. There is a restroom and bookstore that sells souvenirs. Because there are items like old dishes and a stove in hnds reach I do not recommend this museum for those with rambunctious toddlers unless they are closely supervised or in a really good stroller since no...
