This past Saturday, was the 5th Annual OC Brew Ha Ha. For months I've been looking forward to this craft beer festival & glad to say it was a big success. My friends and I purchased the VIP Ticket (Noon to 4pm), which granted us early access. I found a promo code which knocked $15 off each ticket, winning!
Upon entering the festival, we received our commemorative Brew Ha Ha shot glass and a map. There was live music as we waited for the festival to open.
It was miserably hot on Saturday with temperatures reaching the mid to high 90's. I loved the setup of the festival; free water, snack mix and other promotional items before entering. There were over 80 tents of the best breweries from around the country. I tried to hit as many as possible, but sadly was done after close to 40.
My favorite brewery of the day was from "Hoparazzi Brewery" from Anaheim (not opened yet). They served 3 different types of beers but the highlight were the sours - Raspberry and Cherry Tart. I must of went back 6 or 7 times just for the "Raspberry a La Tart".
Drinking makes you hungry right? Located to the back of festival were the food trucks! I chose the "Burnt Truck" due to it being new for me and reviews I read. I ordered the loaded fries and a buffalo slider. The food was definitely flavorful and hit the spot after all the craft beer tasting. Even though the heat was bothersome, there were plenty of cold water stations and water mists to help keep the crowd cool. I am looking forward to my next beer festival; Brew Ho Ho...
Read moreI've been here twice. Once for Boy Scout - Scout-a-rama and it was muddy and a mess. The redeeming value was that it is great for huge events and has food prep areas as well as a covered theater stage area with seating and a quaint pond with a bridge. The second time I was here was for a Boy Scout Pacifica Region Camporee. It accommodated the space needed, but the OC Fire Authority was practicing helicopter water drops from Irvine Lake, within 100 yards of the Park, which caused much noise and distraction. In retrospect, it would have been a good idea to check with the city to find out when they are holding training events at the...
Read moreExcellent venue as far as the actual event (concert) went. Plenty of shade, pretty surroundings, enough port a potties, food trucks were good and the event staff was on top of things. The downside, one lane in and out. On the way in not terrible, cash only for parking and staff directed parking. The way out was horrible, no one directing traffic, everyone one making their own lanes to try to force into the single lane and nothing moving. It took us over an hour to get out. I'd absolutely go to more events here but I hope they plan the exiting...
