Tyringham Cobble has a lovely a 1-2 hour circular walk up to the top of the high hill with great views as well as through forested woods part of which is on the Appalachian trail and across a broad sweep of fields that parallel Hop Brook. The trail has views of the Tyringham valley and the small quaint village as well as lovely wooded sections some of which are steep.
You can also just do 1/4 or one half the walk across the front of the bottom of the Cobble where it is just slightly rolling and a lot more flat for ease of walking and a view of the village. In wet seasons it can be squishy or muddy so wear good walking / hiking shoes. As with all Berkshire walks check yourself to ticks afterwards.
Great refreshing walk that can be short or longer as you like. Fun to picnic at the top. Lastly you can continue on for a long walk if you stay on the Appalachian trail. The trail is marked. Read the sign s at the trailhead lot.

Read moreGreat hikes to top of the cobble and circular path to the top and back with beautiful valley and wood views. It's fairly steep up but not extreme. It can be muddy after rains. It's an hour is you're moving fast, in shape and looking for a work out or take your time enjoying stops, views, rest or a picnic and make it last 1.5 - 2 + hours.
You can also just walk across the front of the Cobble above the Tyringham Main Road across a sloped field to the Hop Brook foot bridge and back for an easy 30+ minute walk.
The paths also connect to the Appalachian Trail if you want a longer walk and that's not circular so you turn around to come back.
Any walk on the Cobble is gorgeous with woods, fields and valley...
Read moreWhat a great hike, easy for the family.. some younger kids might be a little bit nervous if there are cows in the field when you have to walk through, but they won't bother you.
There are several view points from the top, and the view down to the valley is very Serene. It's almost as if you're looking down at a place that has been locked in time from decades ago.
Definitely a great hike, and a nice place to take the family, it's a nice fairly quick diversion from the Lee Outlets if you happen to be up that way and have the inclination to want to spend a little...
