Lake Mendocino — Attraction in Ukiah

Best lake in mendocino county. Named after the county because of this. Sailing on this lake is fun when the wind is blowing. When it isnt a kayak or paddleboard are also fun. Camping, picnic areas, day use areas and family areas with playgrounds. This lake is underappreciated for its time. See it while you can. Run by corp of engineers who can at any time close areas off for any reason. Being under budget areas remain closed because of staffing. I love coming here for camping, water fun, BarBQue, pinic, spending the day, and hiking. Unfortunately there is no camping in part of it til 2020 I read. Due to fire victims housing needs, one of the roads under water, also some camp sites, and 1 day use, and ? I think the south side came ground is open but not sure. Great place to come even when the water is low. Really nice place to take your kids to swim BBQ fish and all the fun things you can do around the water fly a kite if it's nice and windy the dam would be the place todo that. But other then that it's a great place to get out of the house great hike that you can take from one side of the lake to the other. Very beautiful if you love...
