Beautiful day on the 4th of July to hike this trail. Rain has held off nicely but you can tell rocks were a bit wet. Lots of hikers going up or down but was a very relaxed day. Trail was a bit muddy due to rains but manageable. The Cantilever Rock was def a great thing to see and check off my bucket lists for hikes that me my wife and our mini Doxie would do this year. The trail was straight forward there and back. Hikers were patient and kind. Def would go do this again as it veers off to a few other trails that are worth the adventure. It's not easy that's for sure so be mindful you need to have good boots and patience. But again def worthwhile adventure for sure

It is a great little hike up to Cantilever Rock. Expect lots of vertical, so pack plenty of water. The last bit of trail that takes you off the Sunset Ridge trail is a bit tricky with obstacles, but if you aren't afraid to get your hands dirty you'll be fine. I made it up in about an hour and a half carrying a 1 month old and a 22 month old in front and back carriers, respectively. Arrive at the mountain early if you don't want to add another mile and 200 feet of elevation to your hike from the overflow parking along the roadside. Also check the forecast as often times its cloudy so it detracts from the sprawling views...

The only reason this is a 4 is due to how busy it is, you don't necessarily get a peaceful moment to chill. Beside that part it's worth going the .2 off the main trail so you can get a view before you summit. You can see the lake, and it's fairly...
