After driving by this site hundreds of times, we finally decided to take the time and explore Hopewell Furnace. This historic site is accessible, with wide paths to well kept buildings. The rangers are friendly and knowledgeable. One ranger showed us how he was drying the sheep wool to dye it later. There will be “sheep shearing” in three weeks! Apparently an official sheep shearer will be on hand to fleece the flock. Leashed dogs are welcome, lots of trails. Be aware of ticks - and bring bug spray - there were lots of gnats!
