Madison Lake State Park is a "poor-man's state park" of sorts. It's very small, with a small beach area which permits swimming in the summer. It also has areas for folks to fish, and a small boat dock for which you can load and unload you fishing boats, canoes, john boats and the like. There is also a medium-sized pavilion which houses picnic tables, great for a family reunion, birthday parties, etc. Also there are other areas which have grills for cooking out. Again, if you're looking for luxurious accomodations you've come to the wrong place. Here you might hear an occasional gun shot from neighbors target practicing. All in all, if you live near by, sure, it may be worth your while to stop on by and check it out, but I wouldn't go out of your way to do so. Hope this...
Read moreGreat. Had a great time at the beach only because I went with my daughter. But as far as the beach goes it's a dirt Beach hardly any sand it Stained all of our towels there was a nasty smell like chemicals or something. We couldn't stay long due to the smell. I would not recommend putting your head under the water. I might go back and visit this year but only to see if the health department needs to be contacted. Back in the day it was a nice Beach. I would not recommend going there for swimming...

Didnt inspect the equipment since no children with me. 2 cars in parking lot but didn't see anyone while I was exploring the park. This is a nice little park...
