This was a breath of fresh appreciation for God's beautiful creation. On our return trip from Ohio visiting family, we stopped here just to relax and enjoy the clear weather and perfect 75* temps. While my wife paused with a view of her eyelids, I took to the trail that led to a 10-mile view across some of the mountains and valleys of Maryland.

We didn't use the facilities this time, but on previous trips we have and it's been pleasant. Today it was all about pausing to take in the beauty.

At one point as I was at the peak of the viewing area, a patriotic hymn rose from the depths of my childhood and I belted out the words to "God Bless America." No one else was nearby and it was incredible to just stand in the reality of the gift of freedom.

Our culture spends so much time being busy and I admit I get caught in the whirlwind and rat race of it. So moments like this are such a blessing. I'm incredibly grateful for the moments and have posted the photos for your viewing pleasure.

May God bless you and God...

Wonderful rest area! Wish we had more time to explore the stop more as there were informational items, dedications, picnic areas, trails, and space for pets in addition to the very clean and useful restrooms. We did walk our dogs around a bit and took some photos before departing after utilizing the free facilities.

Gorgeous spot to stretch the legs, take a breath, and take in the view. We were traveling for a somber reason and we really felt some of those who'd recently as well as long since passed would have loved the view here, too. Meant a lot to be able to come through here and definitely made us want to come back next time we come through.

Have photos but they only seem to appear when I try to post them separately. Just stop and see for yourself what is there, then! Very convenient location, too. Just watch out for deer near there. We saw the aftermath of a recent accident with such wildlife as well as remnants of older ones for a good stretch...

The Visitors center was closed to guests due to Covid19 but the restrooms are still open to the public. The restrooms were fresh and clean. There's a bridge between the parking lot and Visitors center which allows you safely cross the highway. On the otherside of the bridge there is a overlook if your capable of climbing a few stories of stairs. The Mountain offers a beautiful view, the air is fresh and crisp. We were there in winter so it was freezing🥶 but an awesome experience to remember. The mountains are so amazing to see close up so if your in the area & time permits check it out. This rest stop offers the opportunity to walk and stretch your legs while being surrounded by the healing energies Mother Earth has to offer for FREE. If your in the area stop for a moment to take it all in for yourself. Travel safely and stay alert in...

Stopped by the Sideling Hill Welcome Center looking forward to taking photos from the top of the hill viewpoint, but unfortunately, the pathway was locked off with a chain—likely due to needed repairs. It seems it has been closed for a while, which was a bit disappointing. That said, the rest of the visit was great. The area is extremely clean, with well-maintained restrooms (which is always a plus). The scenery is beautiful and the views from the lower areas are still very impressive. Plenty of picnic spots and open space make it family friendly and a great place to stop, stretch, and unwind. Very peaceful and refreshing. Would love to return when the upper path is reopened.
