The Indian Creek Covered Bridge was constructed in 1898 by teenage brothers Oscar and Ray Weikel who were just 16 and 18 years old at the time. It is owned by the Monroe County Historical Society.
The bridge is 49.25 feet long and 11.5 feet wide. It is closed to vehicular traffic for some time and was renovated in 2000 which included a new timber deck, roof, and siding.
While you can't drive across it, you can walk it and picnic nearby. It's an amazing structure and thankfully should continue...

The information posters about the area were interesting, as well as the history written on the wooden boards on the bridge. The stream under the bridge was moving quite a large volume of water - no doubt a result of the rain we've had recently. Overall, it was a nice stop where we could stretch our legs while learning a bit of history and geology...
