Indian Creek Covered Bridge…quiet steps, timeless stories. Built in 1898 and still standing strong in Monroe County. 💛 📍 Monroe County, West Virginia ~ a quiet piece of Appalachian history. Beautiful little spot to take some rustic photos. Great weekend drive. Keep in mind, this is not an 'attraction', just a spot on the side of the road. But there is a really nice creek running right behind the bridge and would be a wonderful picnic spot if you plan ahead. This is located in Union, WV.

Really cool piece of history. The only reason for 4 stars is, it would be cool to at least drive "into" the bridge with the motorcycles and take pics. Also a paved parking lot or paved section for motorcycle parking would be cool. Big street bikes don't like gravel.

The Indian Creek Covered Bridge was constructed in 1898 by teenage brothers Oscar and Ray Weikel who were just 16 and 18 years old at the time. It is owned by the Monroe County Historical Society.

The bridge is 49.25 feet long and 11.5 feet wide. It is closed to vehicular traffic for some time and was renovated in 2000 which included a new timber deck, roof, and siding.

While you can't drive across it, you can walk it and picnic nearby. It's an amazing structure and thankfully should continue...

The bridge and the area around the bridge could use a little TLC, but otherwise it was a nice stop along the Seneca trail road. The information posters about the area were interesting, as well as the history written on the wooden boards on the bridge. The stream under the bridge was moving quite a large volume of water - no doubt a result of the rain we've had recently. Overall, it was a nice stop where we could stretch our legs while learning a bit of history and geology...

This is a old covered bridge my father actually did some updates there several years ago. It is a great little place to get out and stretch your legs at. A nice little creek flows year round under it. A very short walking trail is there. No bathrooms but alot of signs with the history of this area. It's a great spot to have a picnic or just take a short...
