A nice historical visit on the way to Cinnamon Beach. Unfortunately, there aren’t educational signs like are present at Annaberg! Overall super fun, especially with teenagers. Lots of little trails into the woods to discover other ruins as well. It’s hard to imagine the 300 acre plantation that surrounded this windmill during the sugar boom. The road in from Centerline Rd is mostly unpaved, but easily manageable in a high clearance vehicle. If you are taking the road up from N Shore Rd, be prepared for some tight switch backs and steep climbs. It's doable, but if you are adverse to narrow, steep roads it is best to access the Catherineberg Estate Ruins from the top of the hill...
