This review is for 7am on a Saturday morning in April. We live for nature, creeks and streams, beaches and wetlands- as much as the kids enjoy it, they know to enjoy it responsibly-I would suspect that in the summer months we may have a very different experience- it was positively magical this morning, rainbows and brown trout, grey squirrel, deer, numerous heron, chickadees, titmouse, vireos, sparrows and cardinals, creepers and warblers, woodpeckers and robins, a little in the chilly side for reptiles and amphibians today. The water is positively pristine, and at least where we were, thankfully very little fishing line in the trees🙏….about as much of a party as I ever want to go to 🤣 as is always the case, the kids’ move so they worked a good stretch of the creek. The native, and some non-native habitat supports a robust population of macros, fish, songbirds, this is a true treasure of the Mechanicsburg area. Glad to see some people know the true value of waterways and nature ❤️ it was a sheer delight to spend time on this creek today with loved ones. There are houses nearby, please treat all...
Read moreClean creek access more than a park with roadside parking, single picnic table & bench. Dog owners: No trash receptables or dog waste bags so be prepared. Also, leash your dog not just because we should but also since creek is close to active road. Can expect passing vehicles, friendly walkers/joggers and creek is definitely a hot spot for kayakers! Water is shallow and gets deeper as you continue to opposing side & swimmable for med-large dogs. :) Only real downfall is the unknown fishing areas although neither myself or my 41 lb./8 mo. old puppy found any fishing line or hooks. I suspect the current is strong enough to take small objects or tiny dogs with it. Oh and take bug spray...the flies...

Unfortunately as they’re building new homes in this area it’s becoming more and more used which means lately there have been a lot of loud groups along the creek. It’s still a wonderful place to go but sometimes it’s not as peaceful or zen like as...
