Breathtaking Experience. True Peace. It's a beautiful drive in, parking is on your left as you pull off the mountain. The entrance immediately opens a door to another world from the moment you "pull the pin" and step in. Our first visit started as we looked to get out of the house but also find a kid & leashed dog friendly location, finding Columcille Megalith Park was a very exciting suprise for us.wr drove 50 mins from the house and it was well worth it. We will absolutely be back as the seasons change and perhaps to join the community. Looking over their website, it's very informative and personally written. Bring CASH for donations box, but if you forget the website has a link, we are blessed they were able to keep park open, don't forget they have lost all event revenue from CV19 and need our help to keep our sanctuary running. The path around the Megaliths through a few buildings and over a small bridge were very easy in this snow. I can not wait to see the spring and summer version. Beautiful park. My family absolutely loved this place and we will back, soon! : LEASHED DOGS are great here. Kids leashes optional, no...

When you first turn on the street you will see a small parking area on the left that states PRIVATE, keep going down a few hundred feet and you will come to the real parking area on the left (you will see all the rocks , fence and map area). Parking area is small but can fit approx 20 cars. This park was extremely unique . Make sure to visit the chapel ; the smell made it even more real (in a good way !) while in the chapel, make sure to sign the guest book. This place has so many interesting side trails all leading back to one another . The place was extremely packed but offered small periods of solitude throughout the trail systems . I would love to be able to experience this park without all the noise from families , children and dogs. That being said; the park is FANTASTIC for families , the elderly , or anyone who would have difficulty hiking . Bring something to leave (offer) at the labyrinth maze . Make sure to check out the pond ; so many massive fish !!! Most everyone wearing masks and everyone respected the social distance . All in all wonderful park...
Read moreStarts out in an open field with a bunch of megaliths right there, relatively close together. Then you find little paths that meander in different directions and you start wandering into the woods. Randomly the paths fork and offshoot and there's inevitably some more formations tucked here and there, a 'labyrinth', a fairy circle, a 'cairn' village, on and on. We spent two to three hours and didn't quite get to everything. The one page map printout available at the entrance is somewhat short on details. If there's a tour we would like to join, otherwise you are pretty much left to your imagination. But that's what's so cool about this place, so many potential little stories pop into your mind, the place is a breeding ground for creative thoughts! To be sure the tone and intent is quiet meditation. If you come here, try being as quiet as you can to really absorb the spirit of the park. The care and love that built this little gem can be felt as you immerse yourself in the experience and you'll find you can't wait to return and bring more friends next time!...
