Vin De Matrix Winery — Attraction in Upper Turkeyfoot Township

My absolute favorite winery hands down!!! I first found out about this place from a previous hiking buddy. We went to blue hole, hiked a bunch of the trails, and then stopped in here to try their wine. This is the first wine that I’ve tried and wouldn’t get an awful headache from, because they don’t use any superficial additives. I was beyond impressed with the environment here. I felt entirely welcomed despite being in my hiking clothes. This place is my favorite kind of “socially comfortable” !! I had brought my partner here shortly after that and we reserved tables upstairs with a view of the golf course for our anniversary. The view was exceptional, we ordered a charcuterie board, Lee had brought us our favorite bottle to celebrate with, we then told her we couldn’t open the bottle. She IMMEDIATELY knew that I was expecting!! She and her husband were the very first ones to find out that we were expecting our little one. Tremendous wines and winemaker truly knows his craft and is NOTHING like what you'd expect in Pennsylvania wine --- esp for their Reds. A fave is the new Dark Star as it is deep layered body with dominant dark stone fruit and casis and subtle essence of cocoa; long lingering finish with notes of tobacco and leather.

7 Sisters is another fave with a nose of strawberry and faint scents of wet flora; Bright cherry and black raspberry with clean finish snd unexpected and enjoyable subtle oak on finish.

I am a fan of their dry whites, with those varietals featuring their interpretation of Gruner Vetliner, as a sole varietal or as a blend, as being crisp, refreshing and bright with salinity.
