This lake is beautiful, and the surrounding area is nice, but don't swim in it. It is located next to a LANDFILL. (Landfill half a mile to the north, sewage treatment plant less than half a mile to the south.) In spite of following regulations and all best efforts, all landfills leach toxins into the immediate vicinity, which includes this lake. It's beautiful, and a fun place to fish, but do NOT swim or play in this water! Do not allow your children or pets to swim or play in this water.

Furthermore, back in the 80's and 90's, before this lake was cleaned up and regulated like it is now, people treated this lake itself pretty much like a landfill, including with a lot of chemicals and paint and car batteries and stuff the landfill wouldn't take. All kinds of garbage was dumped here. In the early 2000's, dozens of eagle scout and other volunteer projects were done to clean the area up, pull thousands of pounds of trash out of the lake, put in the trail, clear noxious weeds to put in picnic areas, build retaining walls, and build many other nice amenities that we love today. But if you saw all the stuff pulled out of that water you wouldn't touch that water for anything.

One last thing- Bountiful Lake has a special place in the hearts of those thousands of community members who cleaned the place up to what it is today. After all the work put into it, locals feel ZERO tolerance for littering or dumping. It still happens, but that's one of the fastest ways to pick a fight with the folks who remember how hard it was to clean up the first time around. Please keep it nice for everyone to enjoy. (And please know that all the service projects in the world can't make that water safe to swim in....

Beautiful Lake & Wildlife refuge. Great Lake to take your Kayak, Canoe, SUP, Float Tube, Fishing Pontoon (Kick Boat), Peddle Boat, Inflatable Raft, ect. Also a Great Lake to go Swimming & Play in the water there is a beach area for that just keep in mind to Swim at your own risk there are no Lifeguards on duty here. Great place to enjoy the Wildlife & birdwatch or go fishing. It’s one of the best fishing spots in The State. There is also a paved trail that goes around the lake that’s great for Hiking & Biking. It also brings the best views of Nature & Sunset for Photography & Landscape artist. The Lake is full of Fish such as Rainbow Trout, White Bass,Wiper, Bluegill, Panfish, Bass (Large/Smallmouth), Catfish, extra. Really quiet location for being a community park right next to Legacy Parkway. Beautiful Sunsets & views of the mountains to the east. It makes you feel like your out...

Bountiful Pond is not a good place for serious fishing. It's over fished, sometimes crowded and noisy. That's not to say you won't catch a fish. You may get a bite or two, but if fishing is your primary activity, I'd recommend going elsewhere. Bountiful Pond is more of a family recreation place. Kayaks, small boats (no motors), a place for the kids to run around playing while the adults sit and enjoy family time and relaxing, and tossing a fishing line in the water while not expecting a trophy winning bass or catfish...definently a good place for all these things. And if these activities are what you're looking for, I'd definitely recommend Bountiful Pond. It's a nearby, clean place close to the main highways and interstate that a family can enjoy some outside fun...

Decent place to go out and walk and be in nature. The fishing wasn't very good. Tons of baby cats but nothing big enough to catch. Make sure you leave when the sun's about to set!! The mosquitoes here were unbearable I had bites on places I was covered. Bites on top of bits. With in 15 mins no joke I had around 2o bites. When I got home and was able to see and count I have roughly 47 Total bites. There is a lot of stale water off the side of the walking trail the water stinks and is infested with bugs and mosquitoes

Nice. Quiet. Calm. Plenty of tables for lunch or dinner with friends or family. I seen a few people fishing even a group of young boys. Basic drop toilets with no running water or electricity. I had fun wading in the water on a hot summer day. I found a great spot all to myself with plenty of room to feel like I was alone even though I knew I wasn’t. lol. Definitely going back. Which I had a canoe to go out on. It would be even more fun! The also have docks to make it easier to get in and out of the water.
