This park is amazing. It is just a short drive up Provo Canyon from Orem and halfway between the base of the mountain and Sundance Resort. In addition to being located in one of my favorite places in the world it is one of my favorite parks to stop at for many reason it has an ample parking lot. Sometimes Sundance Resort has no Drive dates for employees and they are able to park here as to save parking for guests at the resort and take a bus up the Canyon from here it takes about 10 minutes to drive from this parking lot to the base of Sundance Resort. The park has beautiful mountain and canyon views. There are several bridges that cross over the Provo river and to the paved bike/hike/jog path. It's sprawling expanse is adjacent to the river as well as having a large area of green grass and an amphitheater area, There are many picnic tables under a covered roof and we can barbecue or have events there for family and friend together it offers many benefits for all such as play place for kids, clean bathrooms, a large area for hiking and that trail for biking and jogging that winds through the Canyons against the mountain. I love this area, it is so gorgeous. There are many birds and Woodland creatures and most notably I saw a bald eagle on a tree who stayed there as I took several pictures and that just put the crown jewel upon the...
Read moreMy girlfriend and I are always really bummed out because anywhere near SLC that is dog friendly is over flowing with cars on the weekends. We've been trying so hard to find a nice quiet place to walk and each weekend we are really disappointed.
I was just poking around on good ol' Google Maps and found this parking lot. Figured we could try this even though it is a 45 minute drive from our home. It was completely worth the drive. We were able to walk for a few hours with our dog and saw maybe 30 people and 4 dogs maximum between here and Bridal Falls. It was very peaceful to not have to worry about crowds everywhere.
We didn't even realize Bridal Falls was just down the way (about 30-40 minutes of walking maybe). It was a nice surprise. We also got to walk through Nunn's Park which is a campground that is closed at this time of the year. It was fun walking around the empty campground next...
Read moreOf all the Provo City parks, this one's my favorite. You couldn't ask for a much nicer setting. It's surrounded by spectacular mountains. It's a very easy bike ride in a fairly easy walk to bridal veil Falls from here. The only real downside to this park is but it's close to a very well-used Highway that can get a little noisy at times. I commend the park workers for maintaining this park as well as they do. I used to work for the City of Orem as a park worker myself. Those people are working out in the elements day in and day out. Please feel free to thank them for their efforts when...
