So many negative reviews, but honestly for a reservoir, it's not that bad. Just like any 'close' reservoir you go to on a weekend, during summer, it's going to be busy. So plan on that. Or, make it nice for the rest of us and don't go so we can enjoy it.
This is one of our favorite reservoirs to go to every year to camp. We make our reservations in advance for the spot we like. We don't have a boat but we have paddle boards and everyone loves going out on them. We have dogs so we stay away from the side with all the people/crowds and boats and everyone is pretty chill and nice on this side. If you like dogs. We've never had obnoxious people around us. It's nice and relaxing and fun towards the water/beach even with the rocks. There are real toilets, running water, showers and cell phone service to keep the kids happy too.
We even came here when the water was really low and still enjoyed it. Regardless of the longer walk to get to the water.
Maybe if people find this reservoir unsatisfying for them. Try for a reservation and see how it is a nice place. Highly recommend.

While the campsite was clean and tidy, there were some serious downsides to the experience.
For one, there were some rowdy party-goers who kept the noise going until 4 in the morning. On one occasion, when I went fishing with my little girl, some people were even throwing rocks in the lake, and one nearly hit her in the head. It was pretty unsettling.
Overall, there seemed to be a lot of drinking and partying going on, which was not what I had hoped for in a camping trip. If you're looking for an authentic Utah experience, I'm sorry to say that this probably isn't the place for you. It seemed like there were a lot of out-of-staters, city dwellers, and teens around, and as a Utah resident, I was hoping for something a bit more peaceful and serene. It's...
