Just spent five nights here. Great place to jump off to see other areas around the basin. The campground was very quiet at night. Bathrooms were very clean. They even had four separate shower stalls behind the bathrooms, two of which were closed while we were there, I’m guessing due to low water and low water pressure. The hosts were friendly and the staff in the booth were great. Especially the weekend lady. She was super friendly and gave us great tips of things to do around the area. To those who have complained about the water level, that really has nothing to do with the campground. Every reservoir in the state is below 30% capacity. Of course the beach will be muddy and the parking lot will be a long way from the water. The only issue we had was with booking. That is of course handled by reserve America not the park. The site we initially reserved was tiny, even though we entered the length of our trailer. It was more of a tent site. Fortunately the lady up front switched us to a nice pull through site. If you have a long vehicle make sure you are booking a pull through...

Pros: •many pull-through sites with power hook-ups •decently large sites, many of which include a small pavilion/canopy •lots of sand for the kiddos to play in

Cons: •Bathrooms didn't seem to be cleaned as often or as well as some other state parks we have stayed at •showers at the shower house either didn't heat up, or took longer than my wife was willing to wait

Worth knowing: •Partial hook-up sites have power; water spigots throughout CG are for community use, so fill up your fresh tank (don't hook up the water) •Most sites are very sandy. Bring a bucket and shovel if you've got little kids; they'll have a blast •WiFi is available for a small charge. I tried the 1 hr free trial, and it was OK, but not blazing fast. Cell signal was spotty. (I prefer disconnecting while we camp, so this wasn't a problem for us)

Overall: a fun place to camp. We didn't get to take kayaks out due to the weather, but the reservoir is quite close to the campground. Would likely stay...

While the reservoir was only half full, it was enough to enjoy kayaking the shoreline, now spotted with aspens that flourished when the reservoir ran dry last year. Saw some very beautiful and colorful birds as well as a bald eagle! The campground was quite pleasant, with fairly new showers (2020) although hot water wasn't consistently available. We stayed in site 15 and while we didn't have (or need) hookups, there are a number in the campground, mostly partial (electricity and water) but a few with full hookups. Views of the lake from most campsites, despite the low water levels. Only complaint was the plethora of burrs in the surrounding vegetation, which caused us to spend a good hour at the end of each day pulling them out of our doodle dogs...

We were at the Eagle Ridge Group Campsite. This was an amazing site. We didn’t need all the camping chairs we brought because there was ample seating under the pavilion with the tables and benches, and benches already around the campfire as well. We had room for multiple tents. On a year when the reservoir is high that might be a problem. We had close access to the Eagle Ridge trail and to what felt like our own private beach. They came and checked on the site; bathrooms and garbages several times a day. It was never a bother and they were always friendly. It was also nice to have running water and bathrooms so close. The bathrooms, though they were vault toilets, did not smell horrible. We will definitely consider using this site for another family reunion.
