Really cool old tunnel. There was little vandalism inside the tunnel surprisingly. It was pretty long, and has a nice trail up to it. However, don't take the route google tells you to. There is a brand new, large NO TRESPASSING sign at the start of the Elberta Slant road in Elberta. Instead, continue to Hwy 6, and follow the map until you once again are at Elberta Slant Road. This area (I checked) is completely public lands, as well as the area surrounding the tunnel. I was able to drive up the whole road until the trail up to the tunnel in my Honda Fit, so the road is very accessible. However, unless you have 4WD or an offroad vehicle, don't attempt to drive the road that goes through the tunnel; it's very rocky and uneven, and there are some large boulders partially in the road. Overall it is a really cool place. I've put screenshots of the start of the road you will want to use to drive up...

This was a cool little offroading adventure! It took about an hour and 20 mins to get to from South Jordan area. It's a nice drive out to the tunnel, you get to go on the west side of Utah lake which has some absolutely fantastic views of Timpanogos and Cascade mountain. The tunnel itself is only about 100 feet long and only wide enough for one vehicle to fit through. My bf's Tacoma got through no problem! There's some fun dirt roads to go on near the tunnel too. Definitely worth spending a couple hours...

DIRECTIONS Follow the road for about three miles, and at the fork take a RIGHT. This is about 1/2-1 mile of really bumpy roads but nothing crazy.

This place is awesome! I took my Subaru Legacy and it handled the terrain pretty well, careful though if you don’t have much clearance cause my front bumper popped out and I had to figure that out. Super fun, it’s hot out but the tunnel is nice and cool. Saw some snakes and a ton of cows out on the way up! 10/10...
