This is one of my favorite places to go hiking. There are actually three different location to this park. The main area is in Uxbridge and follows the Blackstone canal from Uxbridge to Northbridge. This portion consist of a very flat gravel Trail between Stanley Woolen Mill and East Hartford Avenue which follows the canal tow line. Across the street there is apportion that follows the river up to Goat Hill lock and Plummer's Landing this area is more wooden and go Hill is actually a little moderate hike. There is also a trail that runs up to Lookout Rock where are the views of the Blackstone Valley are great. The second area of the Park is Blackstone Gorge which is located in Blackstone Massachusetts. This consist of a very picturesque man-made waterfall at a dam and about a mile and a half of hiking trails that are pretty easy to hike. The third area of the park is Millville Loc which is located in Millville Massachusetts. This is the smallest separate portion of the park. The lock itself is really an interesting artifact. To get to the lock you take a paved path and then a very short walk down a small hill. When I last visited this area they were doing some pretty big renovations and I believe they are going to join this section 2 part of a bike path in the...
Read moreI enjoyed the canal section of the park and the tow path which is friendly to wheel chair and bike traffic. If you turn left after the foot bridge there is a short section of the canal out to the stone arch bridge. If you cross the street to the river path it becomes a hiking trail through the woods that is a somewhat challenging walk or a mountain bike ride for experienced riders. Taking a right off the bridge is the main canal path which is very user friendly with some history points of interest. There is a decent amount of paved parking at the visitor center and there is additional parking on the other side of the road...
Read moreAI led me to believe that the paved bike path goes by here. It does not. Other than that, there is a 1.5 mile path that is good for walking and several nice fields for events. The facility was nice, the Farm building but the 'staff' were nowhere to be found except congregating together when we arrived at 10 am on a Saturday of Labor Day weekend. The maps inside the building are terrible and markers are inconsistent between the different map makers so I just gave up waiting for someone to ask and found out myself what was and was not there. It's a peaceful place but not really much...
