We happened to see this on a map and decided to check it out. We were so glad we went there. While we were there one of the clumps of ice (they aren't big enough to be an iceberg) made a loud crack sound and flipped over. I didn't get my video going fast enough to tape the flipping but I got the ice bouncing up and down in the water. There were a few kayaking in the water while we were there. They have some pit toilets and a few picnic tables. Some people were set up to camp there but I don't think it is an official campground. There is a Glacier View Campground just...

Beautiful scenery and free camping too. You can float out and touch pieces of the Valdez glacier. Turn right off Richardson hwy at Airport Rd. Follow it to the end of the road where the park is. Road is a little rough coming down into the park. Lots of potholes. Big rig friendly. We pull a 37 ft with 1 ton dually and plenty of room to get in and out of. We chose the 2nd tier to see the lake and...

Gorgeous spot, even better if you launch kayaks & explore thru the icebergs. There’s an official campground on the way. The noise from the gun range spoils it somewhat- but it’s a fabulous feast for the eyes. Seeing what’s left of Valdez Glacier is essential in seeing Valdez, imo
