Salt Flats — Attraction in Van Horn

My photo coordinates show that i was down the road from here a little ways but it's still on Highway 52. Was on my way to El Capitan Lookout and the most beautiful scenic view i have EVER seen literally pops up out of nowhere. The colors are just phenomenal!! You can walk across the road and stand in the Chihuahuan Desert - 2 birds, 1 stone. Not a super busy road and there's plenty of space to pull over. Popped up so quickly I had to pull a U-turn no way can you pass this and not stop to enjoy it. I never knew that Texas was so...

I went here a couple years ago with my.fa.ily after it had rained so much. My mom told me about this place from when she was a kid and wanted to show us the salt lake from the rain. I love how we had a good view of the Guadalupe mountains from there. One of the clouds even looked liked a Phoenix when we visited,a great trip not far...
