Warning: They're currently issuing tickets for those who park vehicles without trailers ANYWHERE in the huge gravel lot closer to the boat ramp.
The tickets say that parking there without a vehicle is illegal, but upon scouring the premises, I was not able to find any posted parking restrictions other than for time and along the northern fence of the lot, which does say trucks with trailers only, but clearly corresponds to just that parallel stretch along that fence; there are no warnings on the park rules sign, on any other signs, or anything.
I received a warning, as I'd otherwise be fighting this in court, but I guess these jokers think that it's best for cars to park in one of 5 or 6 spots near the ramp that are for cars or in one of the still rather small lots a quarter mile or more away. I've been coming here for years and the standard practice of people is for cars to park toward the end of the gravel lot, not in the...
Read moreThis review is for the Boat Launch... Afternoons in summer get all the hoodlums & drug dealers rolling in after the parking attendants are gone. They park on the launch; park in the trailer spots. If it wasn't so conveniently located, I'd go elsewhere. Camas has a full time attendant at their launch. At the end of August (or prior in 2018) - when water levels drop - you can't even launch because all the idiots power their boats up onto their trailers - creating a sand bar. The county won't slip in there with a front loader and remove the sand. Once again, where do my Clark County property taxes go? This is why I DONT buy a launch permit for the year. Just pay as you go. Since they never have police or security - you get bad people - but you also don't have to PAY most times. Bad with the Good I guess. Why would I pay for not being able to launch and having my kids see all the trash that...
Read moreThis park is located along the Waterfront Renaissance Trail about a mile from Tidewater Cove Marina and Wintler Park. It may have been a gray December day, but I still enjoyed my peaceful walk along the paved trail.
This park has a play structure, swings, restrooms, ball fields, picnic shelters, picnic tables and benches throughout, a paved walking, jogging, or biking trail, and lots of beautiful trees; my favorite being along the wetland area. Being a part of the Waterfront Renaissance Trail, you can travel down to the Columbia River as well, which is always a treat. Today, I saw a flock of geese in one of the open grass fields of the park, and they didn't seem to mind that I was literally standing just a few feet away from them! Like a kid, that just made my evening 😊
Safe, clean, and connected to the Waterfront...
