Read moreThese trails take you through beautiful scenery - creeks, ravines, rock formations and river views. The trails are challenging - taking you up and down hills and winding around quite a bit. There are very few stretches that are flat or straight; this is what makes it one of our most favorite hikes. Today we hiked the Yellow Trail to the Dam Overlook Trail, which takes you to the parking lot beside the dam, and then we traveled back the Dam Overlook Trail and picked up the Yellow Trail back to the south entrance where we had parked. We guessed that was about 2.2 miles. The river views are beautiful and with it being relatively warm today (around 40 degrees), the river was running pretty well, so you could hear it when you were still. ...
Read moreBeautiful, serene and peaceful no matter the time of year. They do a really nice job keeping the parking lot and walks plowed in the winter and its always pristine year round. It's a great place for camping, fishing, hiking, geocaching, sledding & biking. There are also historic ruins to check out! The sledding hill at the Taylorsville West Park, on South Brown School Road is a blast and an easy obstacle-free hill for the little kids or rather us parents who have to drag the sleds back to the top!
