I have visited a few times, but not during the festivities held there once a year, therefore the historic buildings were closed. It would be nice if they were open to visitors once in a while. The site is located on both sides of highway GA 2. It is beautiful and well maintained. There is a short walking trail connecting the two sides, passing under the highway right next to the river and extending into the wooded area, but once you get there you may find it holding water after the rain.
