This was our first trip ever here with my son this Sunday. I was planning on surprising him with the tree top/canopy walk and a boat tour adventure, but unfortunately both were closed. (One due to flooding and the other due to family emergency) In hindsight, I probably should have called to check...oops..., but we were already here so why not check out the park anyways. So glad we did! Even while camping and hiking access areas are still mostly flooded, the scenery, vegetation and wild life we saw were on the drive out to the boat launch was beautiful!! We visited the air-conditioned gift shop which had all sorts of cool stuff for FL natives and FL visitors alike and we scored a couple cute souvenirs. We then grabbed some gator bites (YUM!) and cold drinks at the food truck outside and enjoyed the picnic area next to the river bank counting how many gators we can spot. (keep an eye out for the squirrels at your tables...they acted like they owned the joint lol) Staff was friendly, courteous and helpful at every location we encountered and the bathrooms were clean and very well maintained! We cannot wait to go back and explore all the other areas, maybe even take our bikes to explore! I gave five stars, because Mother Nature is beyond the park's control and my son and I still had a...

I’m a regular at Myakka River state park which includes the pink gator cafe. Today I experienced something out of the norm at he CAFE ONLY and I will never ever go back! TERRIBLE customer service. RUDE and downright unhelpful lady who called herself the manager there and the staff beneath her. I’m not only speaking for an incident I had but another customer who was treated extremely poorly and almost made to cry by the staff there. Was literally SHOCKED at what I witnessed and encountered. I will not ever give them my business again nor will I recommend them! I hope the people in charge over there are reading this you rude ass, lack of customer...

I called to check if I had food available before we even left our house. I was told there was a cafe but when we got there all they had was a food truck where the cheapest thing was an eight-hour hot dog and they said oh sorry they're remodeling the cafe. For me as a customer not getting complete honesty made this a bad experience. A food truck is not the same as a cafe... Not only that the staff was not helpful. I made a $50 purchase of souvenirs and wanted to return one magnet that I bought and was then told they don't even do exchanges let alone returns. That's something you should tell your customers while they're making their purchase...

Beautiful and clean park for a daytrip or a weekend camping. Lots of trials to explore. One of our favorite is the hanging bridge as well as watching the large alligators on the riverbanks of Myakka. This park always reminds of me of a rainforest with it's lush vegetation. Absolutely breathtaking. I suggest Myakka for the cooler months for hiking as well as bringing a bicycle to cover as much ground as possible. From wading birds to birds of prey, from majestic oaks to an ocean of wildflowers, there's many many faces of Myakka River State park to explore for young and old. First time coming to this park and I have lived in Bradenton for 7 years 😂 Definitely make the trip to come here, $6 per vehicle and the volunteer working at the entrance was super nice. She gave us a pamphlet, asked us what we were interested in doing and then showed us the best spots. We saw a deer and their baby, a lady painting the gorgeous flowers AND there was an outlook area where you could go above the trees. Throughout the park there are little signs that explain more about the wildlife and plants. They offer Bike and Kayak rentals which I’ll have to do the next time I come. Fantastic park!
