I was a guest at a wedding this last weekend at this venue and felt compelled to warn any couples from Renting this venue based on the unprofessionalism of the facility attendant that night. Several guests and I witnessed on multiple occasions the facility attendant harrasing the father of the bride regarding following rules and not getting his deposit. It was hard to understand from what I heard what rules were being broken since everything from the guests, to the activities, seem to have been normal for a wedding. No one was rowdy or disrespectful of the facility. The facility attendant to be constantly threatening the deposit even before the ceremony started seemed to be a little fishy and like he was just determined to keep the money. It got so uncomfortable to the point that the facility attendant was not only trying to scold the bride but also was approaching guests and telling them as well.

As the evening came, the facility attendant was trying to get the father of the bride to end the night and harrasing guests, vendors, and the family of the couple to end soon and to clean up quickly to leave. He was already on their back around 9pm and I later found out the facility was rented until 11pm. The bride and groom left around 10pm and many of the guests tried to help the family, and clean up crew clean the facility even before the couple left because of how much they were being harrassed. Honestly, we all felt bad for the family of the couple because nothing that happened that night warranted such disgusting behavior. Once everything was cleaned, the guests who stayed to help the vendors and clean up crew started to head out around 1045pm, we heard the facility attendant yelling and arguing with the father of the bride claiming we had stayed too long and were losing the deposit and that he would be paid the extra hours he will have to stay on the facility, and demanding the father of the bride to sign the contract without a time stamp because the facility attendant would put the time when he choose to leave the facility. It was aweful and abhorrent. It was also a bold face lie since some of us still their can attest to the fact that it wasn’t even 11pm when almost everyone was gone or already leaving.

In my opinion, I would never rent from this facility or ever recommend it to any couple getting married. This day is supposed to be a joyous and wonderful occasion and the last thing you would want is a horrible and unprofessional facility attendant harrasing your guests, family, and couple throughout the entirety of the night and taking away from the festivities. And to end the night we heard him yelling that he would close the gate on anyone in the parking lot who weren’t leaving immediately.

I feel so bad for the poor couple and family who must of paid a pretty penny for such horrible treatment. Not to mention that I’m pretty sure they didn’t even clean the facility before handing it to the bride and groom, the dance floor was filthy when we got there and there was trail mix spilled all over the facility before any festivities even started which I’m sure the couple probably wasn’t too thrilled to recieve the facility for their special day in these type of conditions. Quite ridiculous to hear the couple might not get their deposit back since they left the facility nicer then how they received it.

I have attended plenty of weddings and I have never seen a facility attendant in the festivities walking among the guests harrasing guests and family and trying to speak to the couple throughout the night. If it wasn’t for the father of the bride communicating to the facility attendant to not bother them, they would have been harassed the whole night and would have ruined their night.

If I could give this facility a zero star review I would. It’s really a shame since the venue had so much potential to truly be a great facility for a wedding with a little more upkeep and a better...

This is the most haunted place in all of Ventura county. I have experienced seeing many of the family members and the rope banging against the flag pole and the back garage lights flickering on and off at night. I have been in the showers in the harbor while one spirit knocked on the door. I have seen Mr olivas and i have also felt him go through me. He is very very mean. I have seen the children upstairs looking out their bedroom window and the woman who wears a white dress and has long black hair standing out by the road. There is another spirit stuck in the house but i don't dare they love to feed...

We took the family tour for $10 and had Marsha for a guide whom I cannot recommend enough. She knew her history and made an execellent presentation, answered our questions, and was very enthusiastic. Olivas Adobe is not a "must see" if you are in the area for only a day, but for those who want to learn about the CA history, or have a little more time to enjoy, it was very informative. For locals who are interested in the history of the tri-county region, I recommend it highly, similar to La Purisima mission though about 1/4 the size and scale. Tickets are $3ea or...

Amazing culturally and historically significant place. This is a well preserved Rancho that can be hired for private use. There is ample parking, restrooms, a historic home with furnishings and a large court yard. We visited when they were having a special event so we were lucky enough to learn about the types of activities that the locals did back in the day. We also got to see some great live music and mariachi.

I got the $3 tour. The docent gave me all the history of the origin of this family and adobe. He took me to each room and discussed their objects and usage. The courtyard contains the cooking and tallow making area. There is a kitchen garden and flower garden but they do not seem to be kept up. The docents are very friendly and want to share their knowledge of this area.

With all of the rains we have been getting, the rose garden is in FULL BLOOM! It’s gorgeous! Here are some shots I photographed from yesterday’s wedding so you can see how it looks! :) I loved how the bride and groom decorated the inside area with the extra large real wood tables! Highly recommend that look along with the dark brown wood chairs 🪑 📸 😁
