A lovely, expansive park! Enjoy year round. Picnic areas with grilling opportunities abound all throughout the large expanse of a park. There is great fishing along the Flat river that meanders through. The Canada geese love it here. You’ll find a lovely old fieldstone pavilion center near playgrounds, which can be reserved for use by the public (book early, as it fills up quickly). There is an adjoining frisbee golf course. Kayak or tube along the river in the summer. Fall hikes here are vibrant & crisp. There are baseball fields as well. A fantastic park...wish they were all this nice!
TIP — Some of the trails are boggy soggy in spring, so wear waterproof hiking boots & you’re good to go. Some trails even take you through the historical section of Fallasburg, with signs with each of the original sites demarcated. There is the Fallasburg covered bridge to take you there. It’s lovely & quaint.
TIP — if driving, go slowly through & around this place! There is a fine for speed on the bridge, and it is a quiet neighborhood, so please be respectful.
TIP — Hike a section of the scenic North Country Trail here! Downtown Lowell has a headquarters for the North Country Trail, and the trail itself is marked with the insignia as well as with periodic blue blazes on the trees (~2”x6” blue...
Read moreFallasburg Park is an amazing place.i spend most of my park days here. It's an all day adventure. Beautiful and spacious picnic areas throughout. Lots of shade and sun. A Disc Golf course to be respected. Many elevation changes and difficult shots. Long and short pads. Warm up basket which can be used as a 19th hole. Porta pottys at the parking area of the course. Places to sit throughout. Then after a fun round, you can drive up a couple miles to the white pine bridge and take a float down the Flat River. I love to kayak. My friends canoe. And many just tube. It's all good. Very novice river. No rapids. But it gets very shallow so you do have to avoid some rocks. Several places to stop if you have to. As a bonus, if you go very early in the day or late in the afternoon, you may catch a glimpse of the bald eagles, fishing for their meal! They actually stayed ahead of us for most of our float one day! There are also great blue herons, peregrine falcons, kestrels and some very noisy King fishers. Oh, and if you're anything like me, you talk to strangers. All of the folks who live on the river have been very friendly and...
Read moreVery pleasant and cute little area. It's longer than it is wide. One area has a little playground area when you keep driving you find several little picnic spots. They have picnic tables and grills. They also have a very cute covered bridge that you can walk on if you want but watch out for cars. It's next to the river so the whole area is quite scenic. Also after we drove over the bridge we found these historic old homes that have signs in their front yard telling you when they were built and what they were used for. We did this in September and so there was some fall color starting and it was definitely very lovely. We will go back in the summer and have a picnic there I think that would be an awesome picnic spot, plenty of room to play...
