The park itself is a hidden gem. The issue as always is people show up and ruin it. Most of the time, the park is just fine with the regulars walking their dog, fishing etc. The issue is every once in a while the ghetto rats show up and get loud, obnoxious, smoke weed...let their unsupervised kids swim when the beach is closed and no lifeguard is on etc. Last time I was their with my sons running our hobby grade remote controlled boats. Someone's little "darling" thought it would be funny to throw rocks at our boats. These things START at $600 and take a lot of work to complete. The last thing I want is some kid trying to sink one by whipping rocks at it! I shouted over to the sweet boy to knock it off. He finally did. I searched for his parents in vain, only to see him about 15 minutes later run back to his "people" situated about 600 feet away... clueless to what their little...

Park is beautiful itself but a True Hidden Gem just one minute drive from the Park. Go to 345 Valley Falls Rd. Vernon.

Today we accidentally discovered an incredible place — the local historical museum in the small town of Vernon. Sadly, it’s not even marked on Google Maps, which makes the discovery feel even more special!

The museum is located on the grounds of the original Valley Falls Farm and includes six beautifully preserved historic buildings, each carefully restored and filled with the spirit of the past. It’s like stepping into a living history book.

What truly makes the experience unforgettable are the volunteers who lead the tours. They are genuinely kind, knowledgeable, and passionate people who love what they do. Their stories, insights, and warm approach bring the entire...

Absolutely beautiful, clean landscape. Especially with recent updates and renovations to make the place better. Water is very cold, nothing anyone can control, and not going to lie, some of the swimming rules are kinda of different and odd, than what I’ve seen from other places. You also can only go about 3 feet deep here, so swimming area isn’t large. But I personally would not say the water is the best quality of this place, it’s the nearby cliff sides that provide a beautiful view of the valley, and the local easy access to the Hop River State Park Trail. The trails and hiking ability is insanely incredible, and the amount one can explore here is tremendous. Valley Falls is well taken care of, and a valued place in the community. It’s beautiful and even...

A quaint, tucked away retreat area that you can take a stroll around the pond on all the many trails, see some small waterfalls and mini rapids with many spots to sit and enjoy the sounds of running water. A spot in the summer to take a dip or even now during early spring, to throw a fishing line in the water and sit and relax. Wide open area for multiple activities and decent crowd to come read a book, throw the ball around, or just sit and relax.

They have a small beach on the lake and this awesome trail that takes you out to many scenic outlooks, you can also hop on the rails to trails as one of the trails runs right across it. Just be cautious with younger kids on the trail as there are no guards or rails by the edges and there are some steep drop offs. If you jump on the rails to trails the path is plenty wide enough and safe for the younger ones.
