Wow am I proud to be a Louisiana native even though I recently moved to Georgia! We were on our way back for a visit and I said I prefer to stop at this rest stop then wait for a gas station to utilize the restrooms. I also needed a little stretch and walk around and saw that of course they had free Community Coffee. I had visited a r rest stop/welcome center entering Louisiana years ago coming from Florida and thought how beautiful, welcoming, and a great place to get an introduction to the state. They go above and beyond many many welcome centers I have visited in my travels to other states. So it's good to know that my home state is so willing to put forth this great effort for visitors. And in the end of course I had a wonderful cup of Community Coffee. It was hot fresh and had all the fixings 😁☕ oh and big honorable mention to the lady working the counter who asked me about myself, which I assume is for some type of census because she asked my zip code and how many people were visiting the rest stop. I don't know if they're trying to gauge whether or not it's worth having these things open but listen to me when I say it is worth the taxpayer funds. After the questioning she definitely was ready willing and able to help me find anything that I needed as well as a very cheerful disposition. Even though I've only been gone from home for a couple months it was great being back and that was the ideal...

I'm disabled and can't walk too far in hot humid weather. If I had known that the ladies restroom was so far from my vehicle and had no air conditioner, I would of took my chances at a gas station. The bathrooms floor and toilet in the handicap stall was filthy. I had to clean the toilet so I could use it. And moving around in a super hot n humid area was devastating to my health. Having asthma, I struggled to breathe while in there. It was so hot and humid in the ladies bathroom that I was drenched in sweat!! When I finally made it to my vehicle and started up the engine, this strange man approached my driver side window asking for help. When I told him that I couldn't help him, he went too 2 other women who were walking their dogs and a person in their vehicle as I was backing out of my parking space. Then he got in the passenger side of a Saturn Ion, a person was in the driver's side and proceeded to follow me in their vehicle to the highway. If they were following me for bad intentions, I can't say. But I will never stop at that rest area again! Unhealthy...

So my trip here was, like any other day, normal in a sense. Although, my first experience here was exhilarating, as would anyone would be when visiting a place for the first time. But overtime, that particular exhilaration began to dwindle, like when a particular product that has been overused over time. Although dwindling experience of a particular place isn't exemplary for a processed review, but for the most part, my time there was ok. The staff in charge have been taking good care of the place, and sanitary procedures have been kept in place, according to my observation. Now you see a good review won't be official if it doesn't articulate on the good and the bad, cause if a review only talked about the good things done in an establishment, that particular establishment would go on in oblivion, and never improve. Now on the subject of the Louisiana Welcome Center, like I said in the beginning, the Center is doing well...so far. However, the things that they need to work on are the restrooms, which happen to be the most essential part of a long journey well spent. The previous time I arrived, the restrooms were sort of unorganized, like the floors were a bit greasy, like they've not been washed overtime. This, I feel, needs to be addressed. This is pretty much all I have to say. To my readers, I love y'all.

What a lovely property! This welcome center offers free Louisiana coffee, info, and smiles. There's plenty of parking in the front for cars and in the back for commercial trucks. Snack machines are conveniently located by the restrooms, which there are plenty of behind the center. And they're clean. The grounds have plenty of picnic tables and there's room to walk to 4 legged friends. Great place to stop and stretch the legs.

Heading West on I-20 immediately crossing over into Louisiana from Mississippi is this clean, well lit rest area. At least it was clean when I visited on a Friday. Lots of restrooms, weird mirrors, warnings about human trafficking, hot coffee, and lots of information on things to do in the area. I even got a few free gifts. Stop in and stretch your legs. Bring your own toilet paper just in case. You never know what to expect.

This is an embarrassment to the great state of Louisiana. All of the trash cans were full, facilities are dirty and run down, it was day time and the rest rooms creeped me out. It needs to be shut down and completely re-built, if this is the best we can do to welcome people to our state then we obviously do not care. Do not stop here just go to a gas station to use the restroom and thank me later.
