Really beautiful, personally I would not kayak or canoe there, but I just don't do that kind of thing. But if you do, it could be really cool for you!

If you go along the concrete path to the left of the restrooms, you can make your way out to a viewing platform and see the State Champion Cypress tree. There's not a big arrow that says "this is it", but there was one out there bigger than all the others, lol.

Nobody here on a Thursday afternoon, it was a nice stopping point on my travels through Southern Illinois, and they do have a picnic tables and a pavilion along with the boat dock, along...

A gorgeous canoe trail. You can go to the cache river outfitters for rentals and a guided tour. We did it self guided which was sometimes challenging to see where to go but a fun part of the adventure. There are many submerged branches to beware of so speed is not your friend here. The best part were the surprise fish encounters with giant carp jumping close to your kayak, so much laughter. I will definitely...

Not much going on here, but a decent place to visit if you want to have picknick lunch away from it all. The employee in the visitor center is friendly and tries her best to explain stuff so you dont miss any of the important trees and things.
