It was a great place! The entry along Bedford is small - I would say about 4 cars can fit at any one time. We went along a gravel path behind the Marsh Sanctuary sign. A good distance up the hill, I met a lady with a cat who informed me that the direction I was heading was not part of the Sanctuary 🙈🙉🙊. It was a private road that led to a house on the hill. However, it looked so much part of a sanctuary. We had already taken photos up there 😁. She was really nice and said that it happens all the time. She informed us that there was a part of the Sanctuary on Sarles - a little further up going east on Bedford, so we headed there. Once there, I was awed by the sight of what was to come! We came across a garden that was chained up. Then we came across a pond. Headed further in and happened across a field that led up to the mountain 🏔️ top. Then we got the call that Olivia our 🐕 was ready to go home from the groomer. We'll be back...
Read moreI knew that I would have some time to kill in Mt. Kisco and found this sanctuary on Google Maps. The main entrance is on Sarles St and there is a much smaller one on S Bedford Rd that only has space for a few cars and it seems like you're parking in someone's private driveway. I parked in this area and walked through the woods to the main part of the sanctuary. Here you will find a nice pond, a few picnic tables and nice meadows. There is also a large vegetable garden of some sort, but the gate was locked. The climb to the top of the hill was steep, but there were some decent views at the top that will be obstructed when the leaves fill in. This is a great place for a nature stroll and to just enjoy some nature for a bit. Could make a good spot for...
Read moreSo first of all this is not the right address or location for the trailhead. There is a sign here that says Marsh Sanctuary and a little house with maps etc., but the real trailhead is on the other side, I'm not actually sure which road it is. This side runs through a backyard kind of, and this map makes it appear that the trail is the neighbor's semi-abandoned driveway. Either way though, lovely little, obscure trail, with a pond, benches, lanterns, and a little...
