Warning, this is going to be long lol
I have to preface my review with agreeing with Scott's review below. No one is forcing you to come to this place and if you decide to, know that there is going to be some spending of money and waiting involved. People will go to an amusement park, wait in line for 2 and a half hours to go on one rollercoaster, wait in a long line to order food and so forth because why? It's expected. If you're coming to a pumpkin farm that provides entertainment, endless amount of activities to do for all ages, food options, etc then why would you expect any different? Especially if you come during peak hours and on the weekend, well, you should have prepared yourselves for the chaos. Onto a more positive note, we love Basse's farm! You can tell there's a lot of pride, thought, love and hard work put into this place. It is well maintained and the workers that we have encountered are all friendly and working hard. Shout out to Larry, he's the man! There is something here to do for everyone (mainly children, of course). We came here on a weekend and knew that it would be extremely busy beforehand, as the first three weekends in October always are. If you're looking for a less busy experience, then I would suggest going the first weekend that they open in Sept or even the second weekend after opening (last weekend in Sept). They're also open on the weekdays as well, but note that certain activities/attractions are not available and the hours are not as long. Our family loves coming here every year and is now making a tradition out of it. We enjoy the variety of food options that the farm brings on the weekends. We are especially fond of Hot Box Pizza, AppeThai, Tots and Littles bbq food trucks. Basse's offers some food options as well that we love, such as the apple wedge (really quality caramel, might I add), and their hot apple cider, which I believe they produce on site. There's a bar barn and also a shipping container that serves up adult beverages for the adults. The gift shop is also worth checking out as well. Yes, you may think that the admission is on the higher end, but... is it really? I think you pay for what you get, and you're also creating great memories with your family in the process. At the end of the day, if you're going to complain about waiting, stay at home. You're a grown-up who made a grown-up decision to come here and spend your grown-up money just to complain about everything instead of trying to enjoy what this place has to offer. If you're cheap and impatient, just say so. I do have one suggestion however, please consider a reduced entry fee for senior citizens since they are not partaking in the majority of the activities at the farm. Other than that, keep up the great work, Basse's! We are already looking forward to coming back...
Read moreGreat place, lots to do but had to wait in lines for a long time with our kids to do things. Some of the workers are rude and disrespectful. Prices are high. Should have had a location up front to grab your pumpkins you get free if you wouldn't or couldnt go on the hayride, some people have infants. And the only way to get your free pumpkin you have to go on the hayride to the field, even if you got infants and 8 kids, then when you get out to Field you either have to pick a tiny pumpkin you can't even carve or walk 1/2 mile to find decent one then try carrying all your pumpkins back to the hay wagon and when you got small kids or lots of kids it just doesn't work. And there are no signs stating thats the only way. So went to Field got 2 pumpkins then figured we get the rest up front so we didn't have to lug around 5 pumpkins back to wagon then off the wagon. Then we went and asked if we could get the rest of our pumpkins, then the guy was rude and mean and had the nerve to say people like us will ruin it for other people cause mayb next year they wont give a free pumpkin. We werent the only people sranding there complaining either wish those poeple would leave there comment too. Should have drove the extra distance and go to pleasure valley pumpkins as we do every year. If its not broken don't fix it.. Was not fun at all, sad that we put our kids...
Read moreI know for a fact this is the best farm I've been to in Wisconsin because I've been to quite a few. The admission price practically buys you everything there is to do at the farm which is an insane amount! The additional stuff to do is well worth its money in every way. I don't ever leave reviews but this place is a gem for kids and adults. The kids literally have an endless amount of activities to keep them engaged while the adults basically have a sanctuary right behind the massive beer barn (which is gorgeous). I didn't even expect there to be amazing scheduled shows and performances happening around the clock to keep the day feeling organized with the group. Even if you're not a "farm" type of person they have an arcade room to cover you. Pumpkins everywhere (including the pumpkin blaster gun thing), delicious food, corn mazes, obstacle courses, tractor rides, creative games, shows, petting zoos, and other stuff I probably didn't have time to see was well worth the five stars. I got the chance to meet one of the owners because he was working and walking around but he seemed really nice and down to earth.
This was just for the fall time season but I have had their corn and strawberries from other seasons. Their produce will have you mad at the grocery store for selling...
